TV & Video
Series.
One of the projects that was almost scraped at the beginning of the year was
our Video and TV series due to the sheer cost of financing six overseas
trips. The expenditure and logistics of such an ambitious series would
stretch the resources of companies much larger than our own and we already
knew that it would be a very tough year. We at Diobas however have never
been afraid of a challenge, however difficult . . . we could never run an
independent research company if we were, so we decided that the series would
go ahead as planned. First task was to organise the film and production
crew. Having obtained several quotes from companies specialising in
documentary style films, the estimates for which sent us stampeding for the
defibrillators, we decided that the only way we could possibly finance it
was to help create a new media company and Second
Mouse Media was born. The deal was that we would
cover all the expenses, buy all the equipment, cameras, computers, software,
offices etc as well as pay an acceptable wage then, once the series was
produced, we would pay an appropriate bonus and percentage of revenue. This
put the whole project within the realms of our finances and also gave three
degree graduates, new-comers to the world of film production, a chance to
shine.
The result is an exciting and humorous series that is vastly different from
any other fishing programme.

LOTS MORE PHOTOS TO FOLLOW OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS
Beginning with a trip to N Carolina and Virginia the team went on to the
Lochs of Scotland, the Ebro in Catalonia, Lake Livingston Texas. Lake Nasser
in Egypt and finally back to Kerr in the USA.
Success and disasters, team upheaval, resignations and some great times.
Having refused any product sponsorship we were able to give an honest
assessment of the tackle used, we explore some unusual techniques and catch
a wide variety of fish. There are some great characters, plenty of social
comment and controversy, humour and tantrums, . . . warts and all.
A project that was close to being shelved at the start of the year has
produced an excellent series that has wide appeal, not just to anglers but
to everyone that enjoys unusual entertainment.
Currently being edited the series will be released in
May 2010 and early reservation is advised as the full boxed version of the
Video will be in short supply.
***
Beware however, the series contains some strong language and some
very controversial views ! ***
